About Nick
Since 1985, I have been a part of the Princeton community. I attended my K-12 education in Princeton Public Schools, and obtained my bachelor’s degree in Humanities and master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from St. Cloud State University. In 2018, I married the love of my life and adventure buddy, Andrea. Two years ago we adopted our family dog, Eleanor Rigby. Andrea and Ellie fill my heart, along with my friends and extended family, which allows me to remain energized in the work that I do in public service.
Powered by Public Service
I received my first inspiration in public service through the church, serving as an assistant Sunday School teacher for a period, and greatly enjoying acts of service through my time in confirmation at the Princeton United
Methodist Church. Since that time, I have spent the better part of my adult life working for the State of Minnesota, including a decade serving the students and employees of the Minnesota State colleges and
universities system. Some examples of my past leadership and public service include:
-
Current City council member, and liaison for the following boards or commissions:
-
Public Utility Commission
-
Planning Commission
-
Housing Redevelopment Authority
-
-
Former Interim Chair and Vice Chair of a nonprofit board of directors
-
Chair of various statewide and agency-specific committees
-
Past Secretary for Princeton VFW Post 806 Auxiliary
-
Past Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce member and volunteer
-
Past Princeton Economic Development Authority board member
